Pre-venTronics
is your complete source for turn-key access control systems.
Our systems range from a single door with a self contained
processor to large complexes with multiple buildings. Whatever your access
control needs may be, Pre-venTronics has the solution. We provide seamless
turnkey systems including design, installation, system startup, and operation
training. Many of our access control applications include badging systems
that allow on-site creation and printing of personnel badges. Access control
systems may also be integrated with CCTV and used to
control traffic in conjunction with barrier gate
operators.
Preventronics proudly represents Hirsch Electronics.
Hirsch manufactures high security systems that control human access to
property and information. Hirsch provides a full line of high security
technology from a ScramblePad single door system to an enterprise-wide
network connecting hundreds of doors for thousands of users.
Why use an access control system?
Access control provides many solutions to the problems that plague modern
day business and society and has many benefits over traditional lock and key
methods. Access control aids in material, employee, time allocation, and
other forms of management. Below are a few of the most common applications.
Stock Room.
The access control system controls who may enter the stock room and at
what time. Material requisitions may be done using the access control system.
The system database provides date, time, part number, employee ID and any
other pertinent information. CCTV cameras are often used in conjunction to
provide positive visual identification. This application reduces employee
theft, minimizes operating losses, and provides accountability for materials
leaving the stock room area.
Traffic
Control
In traffic control applications access control systems are interfaced with
gate/barrier control systems to restrict access to parking areas, high
security complexes, residential communities, and industrial facilities. A
card reader identifies the vehicle/driver, and if authorized, opens the gate
for entry. The card reader may use magnetic swipe or proximity cards.
Proximity cards are available which can be read at speeds of 30 mph from
inside the vehicle for minimum traffic flow restriction. If the system
includes an access control database, traffic control may be restricted by
time of day, day of week, etc. As an example, this system could allow
employees to enter any time of the day or week and contract workers to enter
only during specified hours. Traffic control systems may be integral to
building access systems. CCTV in normally used for positive visual
identification.
Building or
Complex Access Control
Access control has many benefits over traditional lock and key methods for
business. In a manufacturing facility, managers may have 24-hour access while
assembly line workers are restricted to their shift times. In a facility with
multiple doors and access levels the management software controls and
identifies the location of employees at any given time. Magnetic swipe or
proximity readers are normally used for this application. CCTV cameras are
often used particularly on entrances/exits for positive visual identification.
